Cat Needs More Time to Pay Off Loan Shark

Terry the cat is in deep. Really deep. After his prediction that the Celtics would come back from a three games to none deficit and beat the Knicks in the first round of the NBA playoffs failed to come true, Terry owes about five large to a local moneylender named “The Clamps.”

“After the comeback win in game five, I thought maybe Terry had a chance, but now…? He’s kind of screwed,” said Jason Willis, a friend of Terry’s. “I wish I could help, but I just don’t have that kind of cash.”

Terry has until Friday to pay his loan shark back, with interest, or else things could get ugly.

“They call him ‘The Clamps’ because of how hard he squeezes his customers,” said Willis. “I would not want to be in Terry’s shoes.”

‘Quantum Internet’: Towards realization of solid-state quantum network

Researchers at TU Delft in the Netherlands have managed to bring two electrons, three meters from each other, into a quantum- entangled state. This result marks a major step towards realizing a quantum network that can be used to connect future quantum computers and to send information in a completely secure way by means of ‘teleportation’. The results have been published online on April 24 in Nature.

The pen holder opens up the camera ready to shoot and the shutter release is under the note book pages. You can’t set shutter speed, aperture or focus without removing the casing. The casing is fastened by a single screw.

There are reports of another version, based upon the Kiev 30, with gold plated cover housing a lipstick case and mascara holder in an art deco case with handle.

Artist David LaFerriere’s kids must be constantly thrilled to open up their lunch boxes. After making the kids’ sandwiches, LaFerriere uses sharpie pens to draw a quick illustration on the outside of the plastic bag. He photographs his work, and the kids don’t see the artwork until they sit down at school to have their meal.
